📜 History
Takeo is often referred to as the “cradle of Cambodian civilization.” It boasts an incredibly rich history dating back to the Funan and Chenla eras (between the 1st and 8th centuries). The province is home to Angkor Borei, an ancient city that served as an important political and cultural center long before the rise of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap.
🌍 Geography
Located in the south of Cambodia, Takeo is a land defined by water and history. Much of the province consists of low-lying floodplains and ancient canals that connect to the Mekong Delta. It is home to the scenic Phnom Chisor mountain and the sprawling Tonle Bati lake, providing a perfect mix of rugged hills and tranquil waters.
